Dreams-in-Progress
Build Your Own Dream Team

 with Sarah Edwards

Two years ago I had a dream. It took tremendous determination, perseverance and commitment to actualize this dream. I often became frustrated, confused and discoText Box: uraged, but I had a resource that helped me to stay focused and clear so I could keep going.

I had an support group of friends and advisors on the Internet from all across the country who I had known throughout my life. They became my Dream Team. With their help now I'm  living my dream and I’ve written about how I achieved it in our book The Practical Dreamer’s Handbook.

Create your own Dream Team and get invaluable support, feedback, ideas, assistance and encouragement as you build your dream over a period of weeks, months or even years. Here’s how:

 1)      Use this  to describe your dream and what you’re doing to create it.  Fill it out here, it's free, or save it and fill it out later. Include such things as: What is your dream? What have you done so far? What progress have you made? What comes next?

 2)      Check off the kind of support or assistance you would like from your team.

  3)      Save the form to your computer (it's a Word Form) and use your software to create an e-mail group of friends, colleagues and advisors you would like to be in touch with and receive support from as you pursue your dream. They will become your Dream Team

 4)      E-mail your Dream's-In-Progress form as an attachment to your Dream Team with a note telling them that you’re working on a dream and would like to invite them to be part of your Dream Team.

Explain that, of course, their participation is optional and that you’ll appreciate whatever assistance they can offer, even if it’s just knowing that they are rooting for you from a distance and won’t always have the time to respond.

 5)      Offer to be part of their Dream Team if they’d like and be sure not to overwhelm them with lengthy or complex e-mails and time-consuming requests. Keep is short, simple and to the point!

 6)      As your dream evolves, e-mail the Dreams-in-Progress form to your Dream Team on a regular basis. It's an easy way to keep them informed of your progress so they can keep in touch, enjoy your progress and provide you with regular support and feedback.
